Can I use my current Browser ?

Bug-Track.com is designed to run on most browser. It has been tested with Internet Explorer , Netscape and Opera . If you have a web browser, You can use Bug-Track.com !

What is your return policy?

Bug-Track.com offers a trial version of its products that can be used free of charge.

The purpose of this free evaluation period is to allow potential customers to determine whether or not they are satisfied with the product before purchasing.

Unlike physical goods, electronically distributed software and software licenses can be duplicated. Once a license has been issued, it is unfortunately not possible for the vendor to recall all copies.

Therefore, Bug-Track.com does not accept product returns. You are expected to be satisfied with the product before purchasing.

Is Bug-Track.com multi-lingual ?

Currently Bug-Track.com can be used in Both French and English Languages.

Can I run www.bug-track.com on my own corporate server ?

Yes, we can purchase a license of www.bug-track.com and install it on your corporate web server. Installation is very simple and www.bug-track.com has its own embedded database so no complicated and costly database installation is necessary. or more information please follow this link .

How do I change my Account's information ?

Edit your Account by Clicking on Administration -> Edit Account From there you will be able to Edit your Account Security Setting and Enter Global values for the lookups (Drop-Downs,These values will be available to ALL projects in your account)

How do I create a new Project ?

Create a new Project by Clicking on Administration -> Add Project From there you will be able to set the Project's Security and Customize the lookups (Drop-Downs) for this particular project.

How do I add users to my Account ?

Create new Users by Clicking on Administration -> Add user From there you will be able to create new users and assign them to projects. A user can be assign has a Project Administrator or simply has a user.

How do I change the system's language ?

Simply Click on My info and change your Language preference and then click on save.

Can I export the Data from my Account ?

Account administrators have the ability to export their data. This export can be for the whole account or for specific projects within the account. The data will be exported in XML format.

Can I import my current data into your system ?

We will be happy to help you transfer your current data into www.bug-track.com, send us your data structure and instructions and we will provide you with costs and timelines.

When I update a bug to closed Status, the CLOSED BUGS report does not get updated. Why?

To Close a bug, you must Click on the "Close Bug" link located on the left of the edit bug screen

What is the difference between setting the bug STATUS to closed and selecting this link to close the bug?

The values in the status drop-down can be anything, the are customized by the users of the system and can be used as the users see fit. On the other hand the Close bug link actually closes the bug, which then cannot be edited

How do I make lookups globally accessible?

With Bug-Track.com you can customize the values of certain drop-downs at two levels. At the account level where the values will appear in every project of the account and at the project level where they will only appear for a particular project.

This gives the ability to our user to enforce some enterprise wide standards regarding drop-down values.

To customize at the account level, please do the following:

  1. Log in as the system administrator
  2. Click on "Administration"
  3. Click on "Edit Account"
  4. Click on the "Account Lookup" tab
  5. From there you will be able to customize the drop-downs at the account level
To customize at the project level, please do the following:
  1. Log in as the system administrator
  2. Click on "Administration"
  3. Click on "View Projects"
  4. Click on "Edit" for the appropriate project
  5. Click on "Project Lookup" tab
  6. From there you will be able to customize the drop-downs at the project level

I have created a user but he does not appear in the "Assign To" drop-down, why ?

For a user to show up in the "Assign To" drop-down, he has to have access to the project.

To give access to a user, please do the following:

  1. Log in as the system administrator
  2. Click on "Administration"
  3. Click on "View Users"
  4. Select the User you want to edit
  5. Click on the "User Security" tab
  6. From there you will be able to customize the user's security levels

What is the difference between a private and public projects?

A private project is a project that can be access only by the users of your account that have access to the project. On the other hand a public project can be access by people that are not users of your account, that can submit bugs, request access and view active bugs, you can view an example of public projects at the following URL:

Licensing and Pricing

I have multiples servers that need to run Bug-Track.com, how many Licenses should I purchase?

You will need one License per instances of Bug-Track.com that you will run.

Can I get the source code with the purchase of a License?

No, we do not provide the source code of our products. The look and feel of the application can be changed without access to the code. You can even change the captions, i.e. change the word bug to task.

Do you accept Credit Cards?

Yes, we accept all major credit cards. Visa, MasterCard & Amex.

Do you accept Purchase Orders?
